How we evaluate products and services
We begin with a defined reader and use case. Depending on the topic, we evaluate official specifications and documentation, total cost, plan limits, setup requirements, compatibility, warranty or cancellation terms, customer support, and credible independent sources. We distinguish hands-on observations from desk research and do not claim to have tested a product when we have not.
We prioritize primary sources for factual claims and record when an article was last reviewed. Product availability, pricing, and terms can change; readers should verify current details with the seller before purchasing.
Affiliate disclosure
Affiliate relationships help fund research, writing, site operations, and updates. Affiliate links may be provided through networks including impact.com. A disclosure is placed near monetized content where readers can see it before engaging with affiliate links. Not every link is an affiliate link.
Sponsored content and samples
Sponsored material will be clearly labeled as “Sponsored” or “Paid partnership.” If a review unit, trial, travel, or other material benefit is provided, we will disclose it. Accepting access does not guarantee coverage or a positive conclusion.
Updates and corrections
We review guides when products, plans, or key terms materially change. When a substantive factual error is confirmed, we correct it promptly and add a correction note when the change would affect a reader’s decision.
